The Only One Alive Has anyone seen my ship? You’ll never see your boat What happened to the captain? They cut him in his throat Quarter master Howard? They killed him with a crank And my younger brother? He was forced to walk the plank You’re the only one alive Did they kill our master gunner? They burned him with black powder And executioner Johnson? He couldn’t have screamed louder Sailing master Pelham? They strangled him to death News about the first mate? Brave until last breath You’re the only one alive Did they spare old William Portman? He went down to Davy Jones Did they slay our cooper? He was cut into his bones What about the boatswain? They shot him in the eye Is the cook dead as well? That we can’t deny You’re the only one alive I’m the only one alive

Kraken’s Dance Fluids are flowing, it’s bound to get wet The barrels are empty and still no regret We’ve sold our senses and yet we pursue To drink until no one still stands in the crew The night turns to dawn, the sun rises quick The fog on the ocean lies massive and thick As the light hits my eyes and I’m starting to see An old sworn enemy is now back for me A creature from below appears And you face your deepest fears When the screams of a thousand men you hear Then you know that the end is near When its smell of rotten fish Will serve as your last dish When you know you stand no chance It’s time for Kraken’s dance When you’re done blaming others or merely the rum That the weakness you felt, encouraged creatures to come You swear that you never will ever again Swill like a tinker, neither beer nor champagne But as the night returns, there’s time to rethink And bring to one’s bearings, to yet share a drink You find yourself flawed, and your head full of bees And tomorrow will bring back a friend from the seas Chorus
3.
Far from Home We are far from home We might never return Let the spirits take control Take our bodies, hearts Our minds and souls Let tomorrow be unknown Fermented molasses Rumbullion or rum We’ve been to salt water We’ve been in the sun We’re glad, half seas over We’re fishy and rich Knows not the way home We’re steady, we’re stitch’d Beer is too easy The wine’s a divider We’d never lay hands on that Old English cyder But there’s the one and only The drink o’ the gods She will surely be our end Chorus Preserver of bodies Promoter of mirth Been at Barbados Piss’d in the brook We’re moon-ey’d Juicy, middling Had a kick in the Guts We’ve seen the French king Treat her with kindness, with love and respect She will give you that sweet Misty longed-for effect If mishandled, misused or Drunk to unhealth Down among dead men we are Chorus The grumbling of guts Consoler of souls We’re as drunk as a beggar Drank more than we’ve bled Drunk as a wheelbarrow Burdock’d, got gout Been to a funeral Now our flag is out So drink, feel free Let your burdens go, let your sun go down So drink for her Who will drown your misery Chorus
4.
Ol' Samwell 04:47
Ol’ Samwell The seas were calm, the crew stood still In a gentle summer breeze No heads were raised, no eyes were dry Ol’ Samwell lay in peace Farewell, ol’ Samwell, farewell Into legend you will sail Fair winds and following seas, ol’ friend Farewell, ol’ Samwell, farewell He’d been sailing on the seven seas Since Noah built the ark Now life and time, through wear and tear Hath stilled ol’ Samwell’s heart By heart he knew the sailor tales He knew their every turn Now angels will be blessed to hear Ol’ Samwell spinning his yarn Faretheewell, ol’ Samwell, farewell Into legend you will sail Fair winds and following seas, ol’ friend Farewell, ol’ Samwell, farewell The evening sky grows dark and sad The stars have lost their glow For Samwell won’t be there no more He’s gone, forever gone So toll the bell to end his watch And raise our glasses high To Samwell, dearly missed by all We say our last goodbye Chorus
5.
Fiddler’s Green Says the parson one day, as I cursed the crew ‘Do you know, me lad, that we call it a sin! I fear of you sailors there are but few St. Peter, to heaven, will ever let in.’ Says I, ‘Mr. Parson, to tell you me mind, No sailors to knock were ever yet seen, Those who travel by land may steer ’gainst wind, But we shape a course for Fiddler’s Green.’ For Fiddler’s Green, where seamen true When here they’ve done their duty The bowl of grog shall still renew And pledge to love and beauty Says the parson, ‘I hear you’ve married three wives? Now do you not know that that is a sin? You sailors, you lead such very bad lives, St. Peter, to heaven, will ne’er let you in.’ ‘Parson’, says I, ‘in each port I’ve but one, And never had more, wherever I’ve been; Below I’m obliged to be chaste as a nun, But I’m promised a dozen at Fiddler’s Green.’ Chorus Says the parson, says he, ‘You’re drunk, my man! And do you not know that that is a sin? If you sailors will ever be swinging your can, To heaven you surely will never get in.’ ‘Parson, you may as well be mum, ’Tis only on shore I’m this way seen; But oceans of punch, and rivers of rum, Await the sailor at Fiddler’s Green.’ Chorus
6.
Ship of the Free It’s a world of injustice, this world we live in We’re taught what is normal, the rest left for sin Don’t fight for your cause, don’t step out of line It’s a birthright to conquer, deceive and to lie They say there’s no such thing as equal rights No room for obedience or liberty fights Follow the great man, for he shares the facts Now cease your endeavor for rebellious acts Well, cursed be your truth To hell with your sin The battle for our lives is one we will win We gather our people The ones you oppress We’ll take all you hold precious and all you possess We are the crew of Pat Razket The ship of the free We’re fighters for justice And beasts of the sea We’re the crew of Pat Razket The ship of the free We are all that we can be Together our struggle will not go in vain I’ll prove you, we’ll rise, and justice be gained Join our cause for a fair and decent life We’ll show them the meaning of a righteous fight Cause no one shall live with chains ’round their bones Or be imprisoned for treason when no one them owns If enslaved by those bastards, who think of thee less We’ll free you and leave their lives in distress For cursed be your truth To hell with your sin The battle for our lives is one we will win We gather our people The ones you oppress We’ll take all you hold precious and all you possess Chorus
7.
Articles of Agreement The first is written for our title To hold an equal share The loot will then be carried out To each of us quite fair A word of warning to you all For the greed of man can rule If you proceed the act of thievery Your life will be cruel The second rule of conduct Obey your ship’s command Captain, master, boatswain, gunner Will lead with their demands They will hold a larger part of prizes And have their own domains And to question their authority Will lead you into chains For the articles of agreement Are rules to be followed A code of conduct that will keep you aboard It’s an oath for me honor, oath for me heart Sworn on the skull and a pledge to take part It’s an oath for allegiance, oath for me life I’ll sign you me mark for our long-lasting strife The rest of the code Are quite simple rules Do what your told And stand ready for some duels Your arms be clean, sharpened And prepared for your call Stand your ground, don’t you run Or death be your fall For the articles of agreement Are rules to be followed A code of conduct that will keep you aboard Chorus I swear to you truly, me life to you all I’ll hold you me word or death be me fall Chorus
8.
Behind Broken Bars The smell of the ocean, a breeze from the west My anguish subsides and my senses rest For a second I’m free from the scars of war But my broken mind I can never restore The sight of pain, death and decay Haunts me still both night and day In the sea of thoughts, I’m stuck in the past Through stormy seas on a drifting mast So sing with me, behind broken bars Sing for the sorrows in the days of the past I no longer see what life could be Let wind fill my sails and set me free Imprisoned in my head and captive in thought In mind and dreams this battle is fought In a dark cold cell with a cobblestone floor I’m all broken down, I can’t rise anymore The harder I try, the harder it gets The more I think, the more I regret From this rotten hell I cannot flee In my mind I’m stuck, yet in life I’m free So sing with me, behind broken bars Sing for the sorrows in the days of the past When life was as good as it ever could be But now when it’s gone, set me free There’s nothing that holds me nor prevents me to see That no bars nor chains are stopping me Yet I’m stuck and to the past I cling I surrender my life and embrace it and sing So come and sing with me Scream in agony Please do set me free Let me join eternity So sing with me, behind broken bars Sing for the sorrows in the days of the past I’m not bound in my bones, I’m trapped in my head So sing with me and set me free So sing with me, behind broken bars Sing for the sorrows in the days of the past I’m no longer here, shed no tear Cause inside my grave, I’m finally free

The Wreck 04:39
The Wreck Somewhere on the shores of the Cornwall coast Lies the wreck of a pirate ship No one remembers how she landed there How she ended her fateful last trip Rigging’s all gone and her masts broken off There’s seaweed all over her hull Cannons are silent, the capstans are still In the sand lies a wide grinning skull She’s a haunted ship, with an undead crew Waiting to come back alive On a full moon’s night, she will sail once again With a crew that cannot die Among living men there are no memories left To tell her story so true But legends whispered in the darkness of night Of her fate wicked and cruel Long has it been since she plied the waves Hungry for silver and gold But riches and wealth feed a craving for more The captain sold the Devil his soul Chorus On a cursed night in April, ‘neath a moon shining full Killed the night watch right where he stood Then he killed every other crewman onboard In their sleep, all in cold blood The captain hauled off with the silver and gold Bid farewell in the longboat alone Left the ship and her dead crew to perish at sea In the arms of ol’ Davy Jones Chorus They are haunted, they are undead They will soon come back alive They are haunted, they are undead They’re the crew that cannot die But not even Davy would claim the ship She bore the mark of the Devil’s hand She drifted away on the slow rising tide ‘Til on that Cornwall shore she did land Now the restless souls of her long dead crew Lay waiting night after night To rise from the dead and to come back alive By every full moon’s silvery light

Night of O’Malley From Irish grounds by the grave of the Queen O’Malley’s ghost appears She’ll haunt those men who righteously choose Reprehensive ways in life She’ll haunt them in their sleep She’ll bind them in their bones She’ll make their bodies sway Then drag them to her grave Hush my child There’s no need to cry No ghosts will appear tonight But if you don’t behave Then you better be brave For then she’ll rise from her grave Gráinne Ní Mháille Mháille Mhá-Ley Gráinne Ní Mháille Mháille Mhá-Ley Gráinne Ní Mháille Mháille Mhá-Ley She’ll drag you to her grave On the night of her death She draws a new breath And she haunts bad children and men But if you make sure That your conscience is clear There’s nothing for you to fear Chorus If the women you meet You disrespectfully treat She will scourge your bones and meat If you misbehave Or their rights deprive You will end up in her grave If you’re trading with slaves Put them in chains You’re trapped in O’Malley’s reign Vengeance will come She will make you her own And then she’ll drag you to her grave Chorus In the month of June in 1603 Grace O’Malley was laid to rest But her soul yet remained to make sure that you pay And are chastised for your sins She’ll haunt you in your sleep She’ll bind you in your bones She’ll make your body sway Then drag you to her grave Chorus
11.
Never Look Back The morning sun shines its life-giving light Gently, as the world awakes Chasing away the dark; promising hope Arriving with dawn as it breaks To lead us away from the shackles that bind To choose our own life and grave For it’s true what they say: Liberty was heaven born, ’Twas but man that made the slave May the moon cast its silvery light Let the horizon be nothing but black As we sail to our deaths in the night We never look back We never look back No more being told to obey and to serve No more being unjustly owned No more nameless existence, without future or past No life ending in a story untold The holy book says the meek shall inherit the earth We say ours is a different fate Our yokes cast aside, we’ll fight ’til we die As pirates, free from king and state Chorus A violent death surely will take us all No pirate ever died of old age Gallows or cannonballs, fire or water Left to rot chained in a cage Yet this path we’ve taken, we’d choose once again Freedom’s call is a strong one to hear Its infinite reach leaves nobody untouched It runs through the dark without fear Chorus The evening sun sets behind the waves The wind settles into slow breeze The billowing sails find rest for the night As Orion rises in the east The silvery light of a moon shining full Dancing on the sea far away The starry sky fades into morning light As dawn brings a new day Chorus
12.
The Hills of Ubinu Like straws on a roof they packed us in tight Days passing by, no shimmer of light Nowhere to move, can’t stand up or walk Next to some strangers who don’t even talk Oh, I miss the hills of my sweet Ubinu We’re trapped here in darkness and chains down below Oh, I miss the hills of my sweet Ubinu We’re trapped here in darkness and chains down below Surrounded by water, an ocean of tears Our souls hollowed out, our hearts filled with fear What will become of us? Where will we go? Why are we locked here in darkness below? Chorus

about
